Temple Terrace has a long, rich history starting with the Native Americans that inhabited the area through the 1800's. Spanish conquistadors followed the Hillsborough River in search of lumber and by the 1800's the area was being homesteaded and settled.
Over the years the area grew and town planners developed one of the best laid out plans for a city and was known as the hallmark of Town Planning in America. Today those same ideas are being re-born as Temple Terrace is undergoing major re-development of the downtown area.
The citizens and city developers are working hard to preserve the beauty and integrity of this lovely area. Live Oaks line many of the streets and special attention is taken to see that these trees are maintained and integrated into the re-development.
Florida College is here along with beautiful golf courses, recreation facilities, parks and nature trails. Its convenient location just north and west of downtown Tampa makes it easily accessible to all the area attractions. Temple Terrace prides itself on being a "City for Living."
