Sapere aude is Latin for "Dare to Know" or "Dare to be Wise". This phrase originated with the great philosopher Horace. It is a phrase extensively used in the academic field. This site is dedicated to this simple statement through life long learning whether it be academic, professional or simple life lessons. It is a place dedicated to the contents of my mind. On a serious note, it is a place to store my academic and professional research, writings, insights and opinions. On a less serious note, it is a place to rant and rave, share experiences or just tell my stories. While I am confident there are not many souls out there interested in reading my opinion on the Lemon Test or the child tax credit as a welfare program, I hope that this experience will prove beneficial in whatever the future holds. Perhaps this is the gateway to publishing my first book; perhaps it will only serve as written history of family stories and personal triumphs and tribulations.
This site is broken into sections that will give you more insight to me as a person than most probably care to know. I am naturally an open book. However, my goal in doing so is to provoke thought, promote life long learning and leadership and persuade average people to do extraordinary things. We are all given opportunities and we all have obstacles to overcome. The Greek philosopher Heraclitus said, “The only constant is change.” How you deal with change defines your character. The question is… Do you have the courage to embrace obstacles as opportunities in order to improve yourself, your family, your organization or your environment.
